Borknagar web not yet launched

We still have a bit of work to do on the Bork-web, not able to release it today as planned. It’s starting to look good though, just a little bit more patience and we’ll be fine.

And to make sure everyone gets it right: www.borknagar.com

Borknagar concert stories; Wacken 2002

Borknagar have played Wacken three times so far, and while the first one has the best stories, the second one was a peak in my career that lasted a while. Well, it lasted until the third Wacken concert he he. Let me share a few points and memories:

This concert was after the release of Empiricism in Oct 2001.

The first Wacken concert had scarred me and a bit, I’ll tell you why in a later post. But I was worried about Read the rest of this entry »

Borknagar concerts; Wacken 2009 video

In 2009 Borknagar was invited to play the Wacken festival north of Hamburg. This was the third time we played Wacken: First time was just before we entered studio to record “The Archaic Course” in 1998. The second time was in 2002 and now it was time for the third edition.

What is Wacken? Well, it’s one of the biggest European metal festivals, and it’s been for some time. If I’m not mistaken, 2009 was the 25th anniversary? It’s a 4-5 day event each August where 75 000 metal- heads gather to enjoy their favorite bands and drink beer, loads and loads of beer ;) All the biggest metal bands have played there; Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Motorhead. And there’s always good representation from Norway and also quite a few Norwegians in the audience. Read the rest of this entry »

Borknagar at Wacken 2009, video by Dave

Today I want to present a walk down memory lane with a video Dave made in 2009. This has some real goodies in it from when we were getting ready for Wacken 2009 and a bit from our stay at the festival. Just let me comment on a couple of sequences:

Dave and Sophie came to Oslo to stay with Maria and me, and we took them for a tour of the city, thus some of the tourist stuff in the beginning.

With Borknagar spread out all over the world, it’s been quite a few years since we last had our own rehearsing- place. This is about to change now as Dave is moving to Oslo, something I’m very much looking forward to. And to rehearse for the 4 concerts we did in 2009 we asked Dimmu Borgir, and they were kind enough to lend us their place.

There’s even patches from “Gods of my World” and “Oceans Rise” in there, and a drum- duo by Lars and Dave.
